ABOUT US | Scott E. Brumburgh
Scott Brumburgh has been an organizational consultant and executive coach since 1986. He now consults primarily to government agencies, businesses and non-profit organizations both in the United States and internationally. Scott currently focuses on large coaching initiatives in organizations undergoing significant mission, structural or operational change. His coaching, training and organization transition programs better enable management and staff to re-shape their future, determine their highest comparative advantage and then develop the capacity to change their operations as needed.

In his coaching practice, Scott works with individuals and teams to gain personal clarity around areas of self-doubt and uncertainty as well as difficulty in relationship with others. His coaching typically enables participants to achieve a deeper sense of self-centeredness for supporting personal change, breaking out of ineffective thought patterns and habits that limit options for change or new action. Coachees have indicated they find sources of deeper motivation and courage to take desired action, and learn the critical interplay and impact of speech, body and emotions on the actions they do take toward desired results. Current and recent clients include The World Bank Group, the Department of Education, The American Red Cross, The Malawi Ministry of Health, The Department of Health & Human Services, and the United Nations Development Programme.

Scott's first career was in environmental management. In a number of positions with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, concluding with that of manager of the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Sanctuary Program, he helped develop new approaches to resolving policy issues requiring local, state and Federal agency participation under the National Coastal Zone Management Act. In particular, he developed and applied on a large project scale results-focused, team-based work planning and a customer-service orientation in these often controversial policy areas.

Scott is a Master Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation and is a Newfield Network mentor coach for their Coaching & Organizational Learning coach certification program. He is also certified in organization development (MATC) and Myers-Briggs Typology. Scott completed the coursework for an M.S. in resource economics from Cornell University, and graduated with honors in sociology from Missouri Valley College.
